Obituary of Phyllis Ann Costanza
Phyllis A. (DiNoto) Costanza
Rochester, September 19, 1931 – August 8, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of this thoughtful, giving and much loved woman, Phyllis Costanza, on August 8th at age 93, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Louis J. Costanza; her son, Louis H. Costanza; and her parents, Henry DiNoto and Grace Nasca.
Phyllis is survived by her sons Samuel Costanza (Darlene) and Peter Costanza (Wendy Otto); daughter Carla Nersinger (Robert); grandsons Louis Costanza (Kandra Roberts); Michael Costanza (Colby); Andrew Costanza (Yarille Ortiz); Nicholas Costanza (Brianna); Christopher Costanza (Christina Capuano); Matthew Nersinger and granddaughter Lindsay Brongo (Kevin), who was Phyllis’s primary caregiver for the past two years. Great-grandchildren Louis, Jonothan, Aurora, Jett, Jace, Alex, David, Mikhayla, Khloe, Summer, Michael, Frankie, Karina, Yadier, Alexia, Olivia, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Phyllis loved working as a lighting consultant for over 40 years starting in 1967 at Empire Electric, and later at Maynard’s Electric in the mid-1990’s until 2010, never really getting used to retirement. She loved her job. She also loved visiting her family at the Thousand Islands in the summer, and enjoyed going shopping, either at small quaint shops or the local malls. She wanted to spend her later years in her home of over 60 years, and while there, loved entertaining friends and relatives and watching old TV sitcoms and Westerns.
A special thanks to her caregivers for the past few years, Lindsay, Casey and Donna.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 24th, from 3pm-6pm, with a prayer service on Monday, August 25th at 10am BOTH at Falvo Funeral Home (1295 Webster Rd. Webster, NY 14580.) Inurnment following service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.
