Obituary of David J. Herman

David "Dave" John Herman, was born January 25, 1962, and passed away at the family home on August 1, 2025. In between those years, he packed in a lot of living.

Everyone liked Dave. He was kind, patient, had his father's aptitude to fix almost anything, was hard-working, loved his family, enjoyed riding his bicycle and working out at the gym, fishing, deer and turkey hunting (often with a bow), barbecuing nearly every night, growing his backyard garden, and was very good at taking care of his elderly mother in her later years. He taught himself about cryptocurrency, experimented with hot sauce recipes, loved the Buffalo Bills, and enjoyed the family dogs over the years.

A graduate of Eastridge High School, Dave was a defensive end (#84) on the Eastridge Lancers football team and helped them make it to Sectionals. He also played on the Eastridge High School Lacrosse team.

His love of sports carried on as he coached and later cheered on his sons in their sports activities. Mitchell remembers that he filmed every basketball game that he played in high school.

As did all his siblings, as a teenager Dave worked at Bill Gray's Restaurant, then graduated from Monroe Community College with an A.S. degree in Business and held several jobs. The last 30 years Dave worked as a technician at the Motts/ Keurig/Dr. Pepper plant in Williamson, NY.

He leaves behind sons Mitchell and Jordan, former wife and friend Dawn, siblings Brian (Liz), Bruce (Lucy), Laura (Jamie), and Keith (Sandy) Herman; seven nieces and nephews, and many friends and co-workers.

His smile, humor, and easy-going manner will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 3-7pm at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road (Rte. 250,  Webster).  Please join the family for his Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church (1460 Ridge Rd. Webster).
