Obituary of Ray Alello

Ray Alello, 90, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Austin, Texas, after a brief illness. He was born Orazio Alello on September 20, 1934, in Alia, Italy to Antonino & Francesca Alello. With his parents and sister Concetta (Connie), they moved to Rochester, NY in 1950. Ray married Lucretia “Lu” Fortunato in 1957, and they made their home in Henrietta, NY. They were married until Lu’s death in 2002. Ray married widow Carol Zinter, in 2009. They relocated to Austin, TX. Ray was married to Carol until her death in 2022.

Ray was predeceased by his siblings Gioacchino Alello (in childhood), Veronica Alello, Antonina Alello & Concetta Riili.

Ray is survived by his son Mark Gerald Alello; his grandson Marc Brandon Alello; his brother Joseph (Mary) Alello; brother-in-law Peter Riili; stepchildren Rick (Edye) Zinter, Jr., Lorraine (Jim) Luton & Heidi (Andy) Morton, and their families; many nieces & nephews; and several cousins and godchildren.

Ray was a kind, hard-working, God-loving soul dedicated to his family & closest friends, and a model person with strong work ethic and ability to adapt well to challenging situations.

Ray’s remains were cremated in Austin. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Please join the family Saturday, September 20, 2025, 10:45am at the Lake Avenue gate at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, for his burial services.
