Obituary of Yousef Sayegh

Yousef (Joe) S. Sayegh of Penfield, NY passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on August 3, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jamileh (Jamie), and is survived by his children: Ned (Marlena) Sayegh, Laura (Michael) Piccolo, and Majdy Sayegh; grandchildren: Jordan and Colette Sayegh, Joseph and Samantha Piccolo; sister Samia Sayegh; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Penfield, NY. Interment will be private. No prior calling hours will be held.

Born in 1934, Yousef and his family immigrated to the United States in 1968 and made their home in Rochester, New York. He worked in the Security Department at the University of Rochester for more than 30 years and was admired for his unwavering dedication to supporting his family. At times working multiple jobs, he never faltered in his commitment to those he loved.

Together with his wife Jamie, he raised three children and instilled in them the values of integrity, perseverance, and compassion. Yousef found joy in tending his garden and spending time with family. His legacy lives on in the character and achievements of his children and grandchildren, who carry forward his strength, kindness, and quiet determination.

Yousef will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
