Obituary of Nancy Hernandez Maciuska

Nancy Maciuska Passed away peacefully on June 19th, 2025, at age 63 . Predeceased her parents, Nicolas and Fransica (Paquita ) Hernandez, Husband George Maciuska and Son Jacob Maciuska, Brother-in-law Julio Sanchez. Survived by her children Nancy (Orlando) Marquez, Joslyn (Peter) Stewart, and Philip Maciuska Grandchildren, Orlando Marquez Jr., Emilio Marquez, Arabella Stewart and Vincent Stewart; Siblings, Betsy (William) Negron, Evelin (Jose) Hernandez also many nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.

Nancy Maciuska was born on December 30th, 1961 in her hometown of Rochester NY to Nicolas and Fransica (Paquita) Hernandez. Nancy had the biggest heart filled with so much love and compassion for others. For a couple years she followed in her parents foot steps of managing their family owned local corner store located on Finney St and Ontario St . Growing up in her neighborhood community of Marketview Hieghts in the Scio St area allowed her the opportunity to work at Lewis St Community Center where she gained new friends, family and wonderful mentors for over 20 years where she eventually became the program coordinator. Working there she was able to share her kindness for her whole community through many programs and events. She was known to many in the community as a second mother. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, attending church, sewing and planning social gatherings. After retiring she continued her exceptional work with the community by volunteering at the Lewis Street Center YMCA and was able to create a wonderful program with the help of her neighborhood family called the “Fairygrand Parents”. Her love and dedication for the community and Jesus will continue on. She was a wonderful soul, who would always put everyone else’s needs before her own. This is not a goodbye but a see you later because one day we shall be together again, then we can share many more laughs, hugs and tears of joy.

Home Going Services for Nancy Maciuska will be held July 12 ,2025 at 1pm Trinity Baptist Church, 650 Merchants Rd. Rochester, NY, 14609. Her reception/ gathering / repass will follow immediately after the service at the YMCA Lewis St Center 53 Lewis St Rochester NY, 14605
