Obituary of June Paliani Vegh

June Paliani Vegh 86, of Rochester, New York, passed away on May 9, 2025, in Pinellas, Florida.

Born on June 4, 1938, to the late Oreste and Rose Paliani (née Magro), June was baptized on October 23, 1938, and graduated from John Marshall High School. She married the love of her life, Bert Vegh, and together they raised three sons: Bertsi, Sandor, and Alex.

June had a deep love for the arts and was active in local theater both on stage as an actress and behind the scenes as a costumer. Her boundless creativity extended into writing—she penned hundreds of poems and stories and painting, in which she was accomplished and prolific.

Renowned throughout upstate New York for her talents, June was the go-to expert for repairing Oriental rugs, re-caning antique chairs, and identifying antiques with her encyclopedic knowledge. She worked with Hidden Treasures organizing estate sales, and volunteered countless hours for the Town of Penfield, especially sorting books for their annual book sale.

With her husband Bert, she lovingly restored their historic home in Penfield, transforming it into a one-of-a-kind space cherished by all who visited. The home became a hub for imaginative costume parties, joyful holiday gatherings, and heartfelt community events. June had a gift for bringing people together and creating beauty in every corner of her life.

She loved a good puzzle, a hearty laugh, and, most of all, her family.

June is survived by her sons, Sandor (Jennifer) and Alex (Nooshin) of California; grandchildren Konstantin, Evo, Oktavian, and Persephone; her sister, Linda; and many other beloved family members.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 1–4 PM at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. (Rte. 250). Interment will be private.
