My family and I have been next door neighbors with Steve for nearly 25 years. He was a great neighbor: friendly, kind, and helpful. My children grew up knowing Steve and Philomena, who were always welcoming. 276 will forever be "The Galasso House" to us. Gino, I am sorry for your loss, and that of your family.

I have so many fond memories of Steve, that it's difficult to summarize or do them justice. Growing up on Saratoga Avenue, we cousins, Steve the oldest, spent days playing, and creating our own fun. We moved, they moved, yet routine Sunday dinners continued, cementing the close bond. The family computing consultant, Steve was always generous with his talent and time. At family gatherings he socialized, sharing his knowledge and expertise with any listening ear. He was a gentle soul, gone but not forgotten; his spirit lives on forever in our hearts and memories.

I met Steve about 8 years ago and we’d go out to lunch on Wednesday's searching for diners all around Rochester. He was a kind and quiet man who knew so much about lots of things. We’d laugh and share our stories. The past few years were very hard for him and I’ll greatly miss him!

I grew up with Stephen from kindergarten through high school. We would play together often in his yard on Saratoga Ave and inside the house. I remember eating his Grandfather's figs fresh from his tree in the yard. Occasionally, as elementary students from St. Anthony's, we would stack snowballs in preparation for our aerial attack from his yard on buses carrying students from Jefferson High School. It was fun until a snowball I threw went through an unexpectedly opened window striking a girl on the bus. She exited at the corner bus stop and walked up to me and punched me in the face! I felt that one but later Stephen and I laughed about it often, we would just about bust a gut laughing. Stephen was a techie even back then and taught me a lot about radios and record players. We lost touch in high school years and beyond. I though of Stephen often and a few times tried unsuccessfully to reconnect with him. He is one of my earliest best friends and together we had many good times, he will not be forgotten.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Steve when I worked at WXXI. He was the recording engineer on a radio program I produced and a portion of a program ended up being used by NPR, the first such national submission by the station. I looked forward to working with Steve every week. He was a special person.

I met Steve over 50 years ago while visiting Gino at their home. There were always many people present but Steve always took time to talk mostly about music. Steve went out of his way to be helpful whenever and however he could. A gentle soul. I will miss him.

Countless Sundays of Steven explaining how things worked when I was a young boy and not understanding much of what he said. Warm memories of our family get togethers to share Sunday or Holiday meal. RIP Stephen.

I was a very lucky person to know Stephen after coming from China. His generosity and support moves me to this day. I truly lost one of my best friends always. He will always be missed, but always in my heart.
