1) Pete and some of the members of our "Dream Team" at our Ground Breaking Ceremony for our new Office Central in April 2005.
2) Cutting the ribbon for the new Office Central in May 2006! Pete also gave remarks at the event. It was a windy day, and he started his remarks in trademark humorous fashion, talking about how if the wind were coming from the northwest instead of the northeast, his bald spot would be on the left, instead of the right...

4) Pete and his late wife Terry joined us for several of our Anniversary Dinners. This one was at Downtown United Presbyterian Church in 2008.
5) Pete and Terry are joined by several ESWA supporters representing their respective churches at our Anniversary Dinner in 2008.
6) Pete and ESWA members and volunteers in front of recently renovated Benefit Office in 2010. He provide invaluable advice for this project.
7) Pete also spoke at the Ribbon-Cutting and Open House for the renovated Benefit Office in 2010. He equated the renovation of the building with Jesus' raising Lazarus.

I worked with Peter at SWBR many, many (many) years ago. He was such a kind person. He always had a positive attitude and could always make me laugh. I had the pleasure of seeing him a few times more recently through my work in the Town of Brighton. He was a great guy and will be missed.

Mr. Romeo has been a friend of mine for about 40 years. He and I first met when I was hired as the Business Manager for Aquinas Institute about 1985. Pete was an Aquinas Board of Trustee member and Chairman of the Board's Facilities Committee to which I would report every month to ensure that the school building was safe and free of any health concerns for the approximate 800 or more Aquinas students. I especially remember when he and another member of his committee and I were crawling through hundreds of spaces in the large 5 ft high Aquinas attic to check on the extensive piping in area. We were checking on the asbestos covered piping to ensure they were securely sealed and not frayed. Needless to say the piping was well secured and had no problems and met with the health law. After the monthly meeting of the Board of Trustee, Pete and I would have lunch at Roncone's restaurant on Lyell Ave. We both enjoyed that restaurant's delicious tripe. After we each had a regular size dish of the "delicacy" our dessert was one order of tripe and we would split it. Of course we both skipped dinner that night. Pete was a concerned giving person even in his last day. He had joined my wife and I in helping a single parent with two teenagers from being homeless and without a car so in the last year. Even in the hospital days before his passing, Pete was interested in being updated on this family's progress and was willing to further help them. What a testimony to his belief in God that even with his own challenges he was thinking of helping others. I have no doubts that our Lord has already embraced Pete into his kingdom.

To the Romeo Family,
Pete's contributions to Eastern Service Workers Association (ESWA) will never be forgotten. He was a true friend of the low-income worker cause, and struggle for justice and dignity for all.
Pete poured himself into our dream of constructing a new ESWA Office Central, guiding the project from conception to completion, providing unparalleled expertise, vision and follow through. His hand-drawn architectural plans and his consummate attention to detail were amazing. His stellar reputation gave the endeavor instant credibility, which was a huge boost. He fondly referred to the result as "the Miracle on Bay St. & First St." -- a facility that continues to be a source of hope and pride for our membership of Monroe County's low-income workers and families. It is part of his large legacy to the community.
His commitment to the cause went far beyond the building. In addition to being a member of ESWA's Advisory Committee, he aided our efforts in many ways too numerous to cite here for which we are indebted to him.
All of this is surpassed only by the care, concern and compassion for others that he demonstrated throughout the 22 years we were fortunate to have him by our side.
We will miss him dearly.
Our thoughts are with you now, and in the days ahead.
Mark Horn, for all of us at ESWA
