Obituary of Joyce A. Lippa

Joyce A. Lippa

September 10, 1948 – March 14, 2025

Passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, with her loving family by her side, at age 76. Survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Louis G. Lippa; her cherished children, Melanie (Noel) Eisenberg, Brenda and Amanda (Daniel LaMantia); her adored grandchildren, Toni Lippa (Adam), Zachary Eisenberg (Danielle), Dominique Lippa, Nicholas Eisenberg (Samantha) and Louis Lippa; She was blessed with five beautiful great-grandchildren, Gianna Girard, Francesca Eisenberg, Nathan Eisenberg, Lorenzo Eisenberg and Lilou Girard; a loving brother Michael (Peggy) Garritano, sister Patricia Sawyer, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul (Mary) Lippa; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Joyce is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary Garritano and brother-in-law, Jerry Sawyer.

The Lippa Matriarch, Joyce treasured her family above all else and her world revolved around them. Joyce was a woman who lived life to the fullest and loved unconditionally. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She happily doted on Louie, her high school sweetheart, whom she met on the Carter Street playground at age 12. Born to Robert and Mary and raised in Rochester, she fondly recalled a childhood filled with love, laughter and family, and she carried that with her for the rest of her life. Joyce cherished time with her family and took pleasure in family vacations. She enjoyed watching her children play sports and was always there for every game and competition as their most dedicated fan. She loved her job at Wegmans in the Video Department and was passionate about movies. Her and Louie would spend many hours watching TV and playing Scrabble and cards. She adored every one of her pets over the years and gave them all a special home. Joyce showed up for the people she loved every day, whether you were her child, grandchild or great-grandchild. She was a true caregiver and a woman of faith. She will be forever missed but her legacy and love will live on in our hearts.
