Obituary of Howard John Seitzinger
Born on Sunday, April 11th, 1943, Howard John Paul Seitzinger passed away in his home on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at eighty-one years old.
An incredibly cherished husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was predeceased by his mother and father Mildred McKay Seitzinger and Harold James Seitzinger, sisters Carol Seitzinger and Betty Seitzinger Provvidenza, baby brother Gerald Matthew Seitzinger, and his son Howard Seitzinger Jr.
Howard is survived by his most beloved wife, Dana Seitzinger, his children Carol Seitzinger, Linda Becker, Anthony Seitzinger (Shelly), Dawn Fagan, and Heather Seitzinger, step-sons Chad Whitney (Erin) and Jay Whitney (Marie), siblings Thomas Seitzinger (Carol), Gary Seitzinger (Verne), Patricia Howell (John), Judy Sweeney (Richard), Theresa Mitkewicz Howell (Thomas), Darlene Brauer (Steven), Roberta “Bobbie” Webb (James), as well as so many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – 99 to be exact.
Howard lived a long life, and as one does when they live a while, he experienced so many things – I mean, he was born in 1943. You get to see some incredible things when you’re born fifteen years before the first man walks on the moon. Howard lived his life in faith and made sure that the ones he loved always knew who they were and were taken care of.
He took his sister Betty for her chemotherapy treatments, without fail. He made a list to make sure he would not forget anything to help his wife, Dana, after her hip surgery. He sat in the nursing home with his sister, Bobbie, when her husband was failing. He drove Tony to work for a couple of weeks when he needed transportation. He would do anything for anyone at any time. He would lend an ear and give some of the most thoughtful advice you ever would hear. He had crafted himself a life so full of love and community. Walking into his home, there was one thing that was always eminently clear – this is a man who is proud of the life he has built and the people in it. The home is always tidy, everything has its spot, including sweet cards he liked to just come home with; to remind Dana how much he loves her, just in case she somehow forgot. Pictures of children, siblings and grandchildren adorned his home everywhere. Howard was a computer guy, and his office was his favorite place to be, his own personal haven.
Remember him and his giving nature. If you are to do anything to honor him, please go out, in each of your lives, and do just one good deed for another person.
