Obituary of John Francis Bovenzi
John Francis Bovenzi
Passed peacefully January 24, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.
Pre-deceased by parents Joseph and Mary Irene Bovenzi.
Survived by his wife of 46 years, Catherine (Marsh), children Joseph, Stephen (Jillian Stevenson), Mary (Douglas Carpenter) and Ann (Michael) Moscato, grandsons Louis and Sidney Carpenter, Renzo and Salvatore Moscato, brothers Mark (Marcia), Michael (Susan), Lawrence (Marjorie), Paul (Kris), brother-in-law Charles Donner, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
John retired in 2010 as the Comptroller for the Town of Irondequoit. His volunteer work included ushering for the RPO at Eastman Theater, driving for the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and chairing the Finance Committee for Holy Trinity Parish in Webster.
He enjoyed playing with his grandsons, reading, traveling, hiking in local and state parks, repairing and restoring antique furniture, long walks with Catherine, and sharing good times with family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 29th from 4-7 pm at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. (Rte. 250) Webster. Please join the family on Thursday, January 30th at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Church for the celebration of his Funeral Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Memorial gifts in his memory to School of the Holy Childhood, Sisters of Saint Joseph, Sisters of Mercy.
