Carol Garrett

Obituary of Carol L. Garrett

Carol (Toy) L. Garrett was born on April 3, 1944 in Steubenville, Ohio to the union of Katherine Gilligan and Francis McSwiggen.  Carol departed this life on Monday May 21, 2018 3:22 PM in Rochester, NY where she resided with her family.  She had a colorful career experience that ranged from exotic dancing to machinist.  She retired from Kodak in 2006.

Carol was lovingly known as Toy by both her family and friends.  Toy enjoyed listening to music, eating ice cream, and partying.  She cherished her two dogs, her pet children Gizmo and Gigi, who recently went to doggy heaven. Carol had a very big heart and was willing to go above and beyond for everyone that she loved.  She enjoyed many different parts of her life and found it to be fulfilling.  There was not anything that she could not overcome and was considered “Wonder Woman” to everyone that knew her.  Carol was a jokester, there was never a dull moment with her even when she wasn’t feeling well.  She was also a drama queen and would go to extremes to achieve her desired outcomes.  She was a grandmother to many people within her community and positively impacted every life that she was a part of.  She was a wacky, wonderful woman who welcomed everyone into her life with open arms.

Carol leaves to “Celebrate her live” and cherish memories of her: James Garrett, husband (Predeceased), Willie Mae Johnson, Wife (Predeceased). Children: Persephone (Garrett) Modeste, James F. Garrett (Tanja), Ajana Dortch (Predeceased)(Chester), Timothy Collins (Predeceased), Barbara Jean Zawacki, Sheila McSwiggen.
