Robert P. VanCoske
A lifelong Rochesterian, Robert “Bob” was born on March 11, 1939, and passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 10, 2021, at age 81. Predeceased by his parents Lewisand Mary VanCoske. Survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Lohre (Berl); daughters Karen (Derek) Anderson & Lynda (Louie) VanCoske-Levine; grandchildren Julie Anderson, Tyler & Hayden Levine.
Bob was a proud Coast Guard veteran, American, andimmensely enjoyed his work as a furniture salesman and manager for many years at such iconic stores including Mangurian’s, McCurdy’s, Lauer’s, Cherry House, and most recently, Victor Furniture. He was known for saying “Respect God, Country, and Furniture.”
Bob was known by all to be kind, caring, and for his friendly and outgoing personality. Bob enjoyed spending time with family, his beloved dogs, working on projects in his home and yard and listening to all things Elvis. His favorite time of the year was Christmas, and he gave so many gifts that it took until New Year’s to open them all.
He will be missed by all, but never forgotten.
The family would like to extend its deep appreciation to the caregivers at UR Medicine Hospice and TN Home Care for the respectful and compassionate care he was provided in his final days.
Friends are welcome to attend calling hours at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fairport Mile Point Rd Webster NY on Friday from 4-7 pm. We will be celebrating his life with a Mass at St. Rita’s Church, Saturday at 10 am. The service can be live streamed by visiting the website at saintritawebster.org, and clicking on the watch live tab. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
