I grew up with Stephen from kindergarten through high school. We would play together often in his yard on Saratoga Ave and inside the house. I remember eating his Grandfather's figs fresh from his tree in the yard. Occasionally, as elementary students from St. Anthony's, we would stack snowballs in preparation for our aerial attack from his yard on buses carrying students from Jefferson High School. It was fun until a snowball I threw went through an unexpectedly opened window striking a girl on the bus. She exited at the corner bus stop and walked up to me and punched me in the face! I felt that one but later Stephen and I laughed about it often, we would just about bust a gut laughing. Stephen was a techie even back then and taught me a lot about radios and record players. We lost touch in high school years and beyond. I though of Stephen often and a few times tried unsuccessfully to reconnect with him. He is one of my earliest best friends and together we had many good times, he will not be forgotten.
