Obituary of Senora Mirta M. Arazoza

Arazoza, Mirta M. Senora Irondequoit: March 21, 2017. Age 84. Survived by her husband of 59 years Eduardo Arazoza, daughter Mirta E. Arazoza, son Dr. Eduardo (Judy) Arazoza, grandchildren Bethany (fiance Leonard Fishman), Nicholas, Nina and Samuel Arazoza. She was predeceased by her brother Dr. Tomas Isa and is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Isa and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mirta came to the United States from Havana, Cuba in 1960 with her husband and 2 young children to start a new life. She was a beloved Spanish teacher at Eastridge High School for 30 years. Her legacy lives on in the many students she taught, including the ones she hit with erasers, she was also known for having her "most endeared" students count the bricks outside her classroom in Spanish. In addition to teaching, she enjoyed working in her yard and cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events as well as baking with them. Mirta was active in the retired teachers association. She also enjoyed traveling and seeing the world with her husband Eduardo when she retired. Please meet the family 9:30 AM Saturday at St. Kateri Parish @ Christ the King Church (455 Kings Hgwy. S) for the celebration of her funeral mass.
